May Conference: Lot’s of Fun!!!
I hope you can see the intensity in Darin and Charlie’s eyes in this photo. The time at Quinta was really good. We had fun and we also had a good chance to hear and think about the cost of “the call” to ministry. Thanks to everyone who helped with the cooking and even though we didn’t get to play ultimate frisbee at this one there is always July.
Placement
May and June are our big months for placing students in churches. Those of you who have experienced this process know the stress it can cause. So if you would be praying for Cory, Bob, Rachael, Dominic, Samson, Sarah, Caleb that they would feel God’s peace in this process and that we would be able to find the right churches for them that would be great.
Welcome Goossens
This family will hopefully be joining us in September. Scott and Heidi and their 2 sons Elijah and Carter are raising financial support in the States so that they can be part of the family and the masters programme. They visited in April and are really excited about the church and community that God is calling them to. If you could pray that God would bring in their money and that they would stay encouraged through the next couple of months that would be great.
Finishing Well
Mark Isgrove is quickly coming to the end of his course. After 3 years and many different memories and experiences he is very close to completing the BTh. It is quite an exciting time for ICY-UK because this also will be the first student who has finished the course.
The fact that Mark is finishing is a good accomplishment but what is really encouraging to hear is how God is challenging him in his life and how God is using him for creative and effective ministry in his church. It is all pretty exciting stuff.
Name and Vision
We have officially decided to change our name from MNet to ICY-UK. The main reason is so that we can help people understand what we are about without throwing too many letters at them.
This also seems like a great time to remind the ICY-UK team the mission statement we came up with over the winter. ICY-UK exists to raise up a generation of disciplemakers who model Christ’s heart for the youth of the UK.
