Convent: please pray with us!

Will you pray with us this week?

Will you choose a meal to fast with us and pray?

Will you listen to God with us and tell us what you hear?

We have an update on the convent. I wish it was better news. Yesterday, Joan, the head nun, wrote to tell us that after talking with their advisors and solicitors they were counseled that the price we had agreed on was too far under the going rate for such a facility and they said they would now only be willing to accept  more than we had verbally agreed on.

We really cannot afford to spend that much a month, so it seems we are back to square one.

We feel discouraged and a bit hard done by, but feeling sorry for ourselves isn’t going to get us anywhere. We would like to ask you to pray and if the Lord leads you, to fast with us this week regarding the convent. We need to respond appropriately to the nuns, and then come to a consensus of a way forward. Most likely that means throwing out the idea of renting it for 3 years and beginning to take concrete steps to see if it will be possible to raise the money they are asking to buy the building outright. Remember, we had wanted to rent the building for 3 years in order to have the time to do a proper capital campaign to raise that much. But since the nuns are asking so much for monthly rent we now just need to test the waters to see if the Lord is leading a handful of key donors or churches to partner with us in this project.

The building continues to be for sale and as the weeks go by I think it reveals that the building is really made for an organization like Reign Ministries as no property developer or person has snatched it up.

Can you please help us by praying this week? We are actively seeking the Lord and would be open to any feedback you feel the Lord impressing on your hearts as you pray even if it’s cautionary.
