Enroll in ICY-UK and you will 1) undertake a missional, university-level, study course; 2) be placed in a new or developing youth ministry apprenticeship; and 3) be mentored each week to help you learn.
You can graduate with a Bachelors in Theology and be fully qualified and credentialed to establish a new youth ministry or work in an existing youth ministry. The Bachelors in Theology is a 3 year course which is owned by ACOM (Australia College of Ministry) and is facilitated by ICY-UK.
For Emerging Leaders
Do you dream of seeing a movement of God amongst young people in the UK? ICY-UK provides training, experience, and a qualification for emerging leaders who want to prepare for youth ministry. We provide you with what you need and get you started.
Our vision is to raise up a movement of disciple-making youth ministers in the UK who model Christ’s heart for young people. We particularly want to reach young people who are distant from God and the church.
Practical and Missional
Our training is not restricted to the classroom. You will apply your curricular learning in an on-the-job apprenticeship through a local church while you complete your coursework. As you go, you will be supported, mentored, and coached weekly in a cluster group by an experienced practitioner and by peers near you. You will gain formal training and real life experience in youth ministry.
University-Level
Our curriculum is a three-year, university-level, study program for training youth ministers. If you are enrolled in the degreed track, you will graduate with a Bachelors in Theology. You can also enroll in two to three-year, non-degreed tracks, which provide you with the formal and practical training and mentorship.
Your reading and essay study requirements are completed independently as you apprentice. For one week every two months, you will meet for six week-long conferences each year with your fellow students for lectures and discussions.
Faith-Forming
You will grow in your passion for God. Whilst you will gain practical experience and earn a qualification, ICY-UK is much more than a professional degree. This is a journey that cannot be travelled without God. Your heart will be stretched as you hear from dynamic speakers, dig deeper into your Bible, and cling to God as you work to see lives transformed. From conferences to your supporting cluster groups to ministry in your placement, growing in your relationship with God is at the core of everything we do.
